Ben:
I met Serena two years ago when she opened the First Choice Café. She told me that she came to England about fifteen years ago. It was just after her divorce. She never told me why she decided to come here. I suppose she just wanted to start a new life. She doesn't talk much about her past – in fact, she only told me about her family and showed me some photos of them for the first time a few months ago.
One thing she told me though was that she had a very good job as a hotel manager when she first came to London and saved as much money as she could. This was because she had always wanted to have her own business. And so she opened the café.
The café is going very well, and I should know because I'm definitely a regular. Serena has had no problems making it a success. I think it's because the atmosphere, the food and the prices here are just right for the neighbourhood, – and she's such a lovely person.
Lots of people hire the place when they want to have a party. I'm planning to do that when I open my travel company. I think I'll ask Serena for some advice. She really knows how to run a business successfully.
