Different Cultures
Visit the Mela Festival in Bradford. From your school book you know already that it is the biggest Asian festival in Europe. Look at pictures that were taken during the Mela 2000 and have a little guessing game with your partner. Then take a look at the Asian way of cooking.
It’s Your Turn Now
- Work with a partner. Choose one of
 the pictures and describe it to your partner. He/she must guess which picture it is.
- “Parts of foreign cultures in my life”. Think of your daily life. What has become part of it that is not German or European? Think of food, clothes, music, arts, technology, language, etc.
- Have a look at some of the Asian recipes on this website and then decide which one you like best and translate it into German. Do you want to try it at home? Why not? Ask your mum or dad first!
